Conclusion:
The entire district needs to work together to achieve these goals. We need to recognize that though we are diverse, we are also fellow Americans with more similarities than differences. Let’s practice the golden rule to love our neighbors as ourselves to promote a peaceful and safe learning environment. Discipline, education basics, and integrity will provide the foundation for the children to be high functioning, patriotic, and responsible leaders of the future. We live in the land of opportunity where the sky is the limit. Let’s lay the educational building blocks to let the children soar to new heights.
Discipline is an integral part of the learning process. We need classrooms to be distraction free whether it be cellphones, attire, or behaviors. We must require that students follow the handbook guidelines and take personal responsibility for infringements. There needs to be an atmosphere promoting personal pride in demonstrating good citizenship. We need teachers to enforce discipline and for the administration and the parents to support the teachers in this endeavor.
Education needs to focus on teaching the basic principles of math, science, English, and social studies. We then need educators to take students to the next level of applying these concepts to projects and problem solving. We need to recognize the individual talent of each student and help the students to find and cultivate their passion. We need to develop critical thinkers and lifelong learners. We need to make sure we are not just teaching to the state test. We need to strive to be more than proficient. We need to master the basic concepts. We need to do this by achieving early literacy.
Integrity is integral to a successful district. We need to remember that the family is the basic building block of society. Parents are the first and primary educators of their children. Parents are the legal and moral guardians of their children. School children are not to be treated as wards of the state with counselors, administrators, school nurses, or teachers making decisions for students that are parental in nature.
