Integrity is integral to a successful district. We need to remember that the family is the basic building block of society. Parents are the first and primary educators of their children. Parents are the legal and moral guardians of their children. School children are not to be treated as wards of the state with counselors, administrators, school nurses, or teachers making decisions for students that are parental in nature.

The district is a diverse group with varying views on morality, politics, and religion. Therefore, parents have the right to be fully aware of the curriculum being taught to their children. The curriculum should be based on factual materials. Parents should be able to voice any concerns they have regarding the curriculum. Educators should not share their political views. Classrooms should be a politically neutral zone. Parents have the right to observe the classroom in action. They have the right to know of any surveys being offered to their children prior to the children participating in the survey. They should be made aware of any sexual education or literature prior to the child’s viewing. Parents should be given the choice to opt in or opt out of the surveys and the sexual materials. Materials should always be age appropriate in both complexity and maturity.
